What is in it

ServiceForge is a biomed troubleshooting database built the way a technician works a fault: a symptom narrows to a set of ranked causes, each cause carries an ordered sequence of checks with a test point and an expected value, and each check leads to a corrective action with part numbers. Error codes resolve to what they mean, what triggers them, and what to do. PM intervals and checklists are included where documented. Community fixes are entries other technicians logged through their own AI, each one carrying the outcome, so you can see what worked for someone else before you start. All of it is organized as an HTM knowledge base — healthcare technology management, the field biomeds work in — and searchable from inside the AI you already use.

What you can ask once it is connected

Faults"Philips MP70 won't power on" — ranked causes, then the checks with test points and expected values.
Error codes"AMX-4 code 439" — what it means, what triggers it, what to do.
Part numbers"Rotor control board for an AMX-4" — the exact number, as the OEM lists it.
PM"How often should I PM a PB 840?" — the OEM interval and checklist, plus what other sites report doing.
Access codes"Service code for a PageWriter TC70" — documented defaults and how to enter them.
Your own fixesWhen you solve something, your AI can log it so the next technician finds it.

Answers come back in two labelled parts: what ServiceForge holds, kept separate from what your AI knows on its own. You always see which is which.

Log fixes, earn a free year

Every fix, confirmation, part, PM report or access code you log through your AI counts. Twenty in any 365 days earns a one-time code for a free year of ServiceForge, redeemable when subscriptions start. Opt in through your AI to appear on the contributor leaderboard; the top contributor earns a cash prize (opted-in technicians only). Ask your AI “show me the ServiceForge leaderboard” any time.

Connect ServiceForge to your AI

The connector address

Every setup below asks for this URL. Nothing to install. The first time you connect you will be asked to sign in or create a free account: enter your email and the six-digit code we send you.

Setting it up

Claude Free, Pro and Max

  1. Open Claude in a web browser at claude.ai and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings → Connectors.
  3. Choose Add custom connector.
  4. Paste the URL. Claude detects the settings for you — Authentication: “Sign in now” and OAuth client: “Use Claude’s published identity”, each marked Detected. Leave them as shown.
  5. Click Add, then sign in or create a free account when Claude opens the sign-in page. Start a new chat and ask an equipment question.

Add it on the web once and it works in the phone app too. On a Free plan you get one custom connector, so this would be it. On a Team or Enterprise account an owner adds it under Organization settings and everyone can then connect. If the sign-in page never opens, edit the connector and set OAuth client to Register automatically, then try again.

ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Team, Enterprise, Edu

  1. Open chatgpt.com in a browser and sign in.
  2. In Settings, turn on Developer mode (under Connectors or Apps, depending on your plan).
  3. Choose Create or Add custom connector and paste the URL.
  4. Set authentication to OAuth, save, and sign in or create a free account when prompted. Then enable it in a new chat.

Custom connectors are not available on the free ChatGPT tier. On Business and Enterprise accounts an administrator has to switch developer mode on before you will see the option.

Gemini Personal Google accounts only

  1. Open gemini.google.com and sign in with a personal Google account.
  2. Go to Settings & help → Connected Apps.
  3. Under Custom apps, choose Add a custom app and paste the URL.

Read this before you try: custom apps need Gemini Spark access, and they are blocked on Google Workspace accounts — so a hospital-issued Google account will not work. ServiceForge also now requires a sign-in, and the personal-account custom-app flow may not complete it. Use a personal account with Spark, or — more reliably — use Claude or ChatGPT instead.

Microsoft Copilot Requires an administrator

Copilot has no place for an individual to paste a connector URL. It has to be added as an action in Copilot Studio by someone with maker or admin rights in your tenant — usually your IT department, not you.

  1. In Copilot Studio, open the agent you want to extend.
  2. Go to Tools → Add a tool → New tool → Model Context Protocol.
  3. Enter the URL above. For authentication choose OAuth 2.0 with dynamic discovery (automatic registration) — not “no authentication.” Copilot Studio registers itself and each user signs in.
  4. Publish the agent so your users get the tools.

If you do not have Copilot Studio access, send your IT group this page and the URL.

If it does not work

Check the status endpoint — it should return {"status":"ok"}. If that is fine but your AI still cannot see the tools, remove the connector and add it again; the URL must end in /mcp. Menu names move around as these products change, so if a step above does not match what you see, look for anything called connectors, custom apps, or MCP servers.

FAQ

What is ServiceForge?

A knowledge base of medical equipment troubleshooting records: symptom, ranked causes, ordered checks with test points and expected values, corrective actions with part numbers, error codes, and PM intervals, plus fixes logged by other technicians. You reach it through your own AI assistant instead of a separate app.

How do I connect it?

Add it as a custom connector or MCP server in Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or Copilot using the connector address on this page, then sign in with your email and a one-time code. The exact steps for each assistant are above, under Setting it up.

What does it cost right now?

Nothing. Everything is free while we launch. You sign in with a free account and there is no payment step.

Are the records verified?

They are ServiceForge knowledge base records, and the page for every model states it directly: field-unverified unless technicians confirmed it. Treat ServiceForge as a starting point and confirm anything safety-critical against your own procedure.

Who writes the community fixes?

Technicians, through their own AI. When one of them solves something, their assistant can log the fix along with its outcome, and the next technician who hits the same symptom sees it.

Is there a reward for contributing?

Yes. Twenty logs in any 365 days (fixes, confirmations, parts, PM reports or access codes) earn a one-time code for a free year of ServiceForge, redeemable when subscriptions start. Technicians who opt in through their AI appear on the public contributor leaderboard, and its top contributor earns a cash prize.
